Fibre damage we repair

We repair fibre broadband cables inside and outside the property, including:

  • Broken or snapped internal fibre cables
  • Damaged internet cables caught by building work, gardening or pets
  • Faulty fibre wall sockets and splice boxes
  • Fibre drop cables damaged between pole or footway and the property
  • Faults on Openreach and CityFibre full fibre connections

How we fix a broken internet cable

We locate the fault with specialist test equipment, cut back to clean fibre, fusion-splice a new joint and re-test the connection end to end. Where a cable is beyond repair we replace the damaged run.

Don't try to fix fibre yourself

Fibre optic cable is glass and carries laser light. A DIY repair usually makes the damage worse and can be unsafe for your eyes. If your fibre cable is bent, cut or crushed, report the fault and let an engineer handle it.

Common questions

Can a broken fibre broadband cable be repaired?

Yes. In most cases a damaged fibre can be spliced and re-tested on the same visit. Badly damaged runs are replaced.

How do I know if my fibre cable is damaged?

Common signs are a red or flashing light on your fibre box (ONT), no internet at all, or visible kinks, cuts or crushing on the white fibre cable.
